I suppose I have always been a writer at heart. Even as a child, I’d rather be locked in my room devouring a V.C. Andrew classic than play outside. I didn’t know it at the time, but the buds of a future writer were springing forth even back then. Words have always been the fertilizer to my imagination. I’ve always wanted to write. It wouldn’t be until later in life that I actually found the courage to live this truth out loud.
I am a native Detroiter; I graduated from Cass Technical H.S. in the early nineties and ultimately graduated from Michigan State University in December of 1997. I took my business degree and set off on a corporate career as a trainer within the logistics division of a well known Japanese automaker. I traveled nationally as well as abroad conducting training on the business philosophies of my company.
It was a great career, but I wanted more than a career; what I wanted was to live a life where I felt a sense of destiny. I wanted to live my life doing something I was passionate about. That something had always been writing.
Though the road is not always easy and I’ve learned some tough lessons along the way, I wouldn’t change a thing. These days I focus on enjoying the process of creating. I am no longer connected to a particular outcome and have learned to embrace the journey that is my life. My goal is simple: to show the world through my eyes. And my hope is that the work I produce is timeless, relevant, and relatable. I’ve finally found a place where my soul feels at home. With words is where I belong. |
